We hope to connect with you and to learn about your dreams for your child and for yourself.

Hello! Thanks for taking some time to get to know us.

We are an energetic and fun family of four, and we are excited to complete our family through open adoption. Our sons Clark and Malcolm ("Mac" for short) were adopted as infants. We talk about their birth-mother every day and pray for her every night. We are so proud of her and her role in our family. We love, honor and respect the first mothers and birth-mothers in our lives. And we hope to love, honor and respect you too.

We spend our evenings around the dinner table talking about our favorite part of the day. And we spend our weekends riding our bikes to coffee shops, getting pizza at the local pizza spot and enjoying our beautiful, loving, and open and accepting church community. Our family is wonderful, but we all know that there is another special child and birth-mother/first mother we are meant to meet and love. We will try our best to live up to the example you are setting for your child, knowing that there is nothing more brave and loving than the choice you're making.

Who We Are

We met in college and have been married for 10 years.  We knew from the start of our relationship that we would build our family through open adoption. Our hearts love big and creating our family through adoption is our dream.

We have lived in Atlanta since 2010 and love this city. Brit is a pediatric nurse and Zach is a lawyer. We are grateful that our jobs give us a platform to serve others.  We encourage our children to appreciate and serve their neighbors.

Brit's favorite thing to do at home is bake, especially when everyone joins in to help! Zach is part of our church's band and often starts dance parties in the living room. We both enjoy children's books way more than we anticipated.

Adoption Diary

Happy Mother’s Day

I’m not sure there is a holiday more sacred than Mother’s Day when you are part of an adoption triad. If that term is unfamiliar, the adoption triad includes first mother (birth mother), adoptive mother, and adopted child. There is simply something holy about the unique relationships shared between birth mothers and their children, birth mothers and adoptive mothers, and adoptive mothers and their adopted children.

I am only a mother because of my sons’ birth mother who chose me to be their mom. I am a mama because another mama decided I was worthy of the most important job in the world, to mother her child. There is nothing more humbling or empowering.

So as we head into Mother’s Day weekend, all I can think about are those of you reading this who are trying decide what the best option is for you and your baby, or who are trying to find the best fit for you and your child. Whatever your decision is, Happy Mother’s Day Mama. I’m celebrating you.
