It was bring your child to work day yesterday. I was a volunteer to help with the day’s activities. We had about 30 kids ranging in age from 4-13. I can honestly say I had a great time. We had some of the sweetest kids ever. They were all so very different and interesting in their own way. We had one that put tape and little gemstones (part of a project we had them do) all over his face and say how he was a great sorcerer and was going to the moon (and was going to take me too apparently, haha) and a little girl so shy she cried when she thought she messed up a little bit but was fantastically smart when she opened up a bit more to everyone. I gained more respect for teachers who deal with a classroom full of kids everyday (especially coordinating trips to the restroom and keeping track of them all, haha). It was a lot of work and a lot of “ok, everyone we need to listen to hear the game rules…” but was worth it. I look forward to the day that I can share this experience with my children too.
