Who We Are
We first met over 4 years ago at Tyler's sister's New Year's Eve party. A couple of months after the party, we went on our first date and clicked immediately. For the next year we enjoyed traveling together, developing mutual hobbies, and growing as a couple. On our one year anniversary, Brandon surprised Tyler (as he often does) by proposing to him in while they were visiting Tyler's family in Montana. Our families were extremely supportive and excited that they would be getting a new member of their family.
We were married one year from our engagement in Seattle, surrounded by many friends and family - we could feel the love in the room. Within the same year, we added our puppy Luna to our family and bought our home together with space for a growing family. We recently celebrated our 2-year wedding anniversary and continue to learn more about each other every day; we make a great team.
We love spending time in the kitchen together, traveling, and spending time with our friends and family. We've talked about having children since the early stages of our relationship and we are both passionate about being parents. Its been exciting to see how supportive and excited our friends and family are about us adding to our adventurous and loving family.
Memorial Day weekend finally signals the start of summer! We celebrated the long weekend with Brandon’s mom who drove up from the Portland area. As usual there was a good amount of cooking involved, but we also got out to enjoy the Sunday farmer’s market, plant some veggies in our garden, stroll and eat breakfast on Alki Beach. Only a few more weeks until Brandon’s brother arrives with his family to spend some summer time in the Pacific Northwest. Can’t wait!
Last night we went on a date! Don’t get me wrong we go out to dinner pretty regularly, but something special happens when you call it a date;) This date in particular also doubled as a make-up anniversary dinner date.
For our anniversary back in March, we had reservations at a new hot-spot by a well known seattle restaurateur that was getting a lot of good buzz. We were both excited to check it out. Unfortunately, Brandon came down with the flu, thus changing our anniversary plans. I ended up making him a pot of homemade chicken soup and spending the evening in the basement watching Top Chef while he slept off the illness in the family room. This is not a complaint at all because the soup was delicious and I’m a huge fan of Padma Lakshmi.
Since Brandon got over the flu we’ve been trying to reschedule our anniversary date and last night was the night! We even got another reservation at the new restaurant we were so excited to try, however the only reservation available was at 5:30 so we had the early bird special- again, not complaining!
The food and company was exquisite! We tried five or six separate dishes to get an idea of the menu and were overall thrilled with our choices. We then stopped just down the street at a macaron shop to collect a few desserts before coming home. It was a perfect and lovely evening! I think we will go on more dates;)
