Who We Are
Our story begins on a lake in northern Minnesota. We met there on a weekend with friends and have been together ever since. There was an immediate connection and we found that we shared so many common goals, interests, and a passion for living life by experiencing the world and what it has to offer.
The greatest goal we share is to have a family and raise children together. We have been blessed with many nieces and nephews from our brothers, sisters, and friends and are so excited to start a family of our own.
Recently we both participated in the Twin Cities Marathon weekend 10-mile race. For Dave, this was one of many long distance races he’s participated in including the full Twin Cities Marathon and the Minnetonka Half Marathon. For me (Rob), this 10-mile race was the longest distance I’ve ever ran in my life!
Being healthy and living an active life is a big part of who we are and guides a lot of the decisions we make for ourselves, our relationship, and our family.
One of our favorite weekend activities is baking and cooking. This weekend, we made beef empanadas for a game night at our friends’ house. Dave’s dad and relatives are from Chile, so he was introduced to this food by his grandmother at an early age. This was our first time making empanadas at home, and like much of our cooking, it was a team effort: Rob made the dough and Dave made the filling. We’re happy to say they were a big success.
Most of our cooking experiments included baked deserts. In addition to the empanadas, we’ve recently made whiskey caramel cupcakes (for St. Patrick’s Day), blood orange pie, and Minnesota-themed sugar cookies for Christmas.
Both of our families taught us to cook at an early agem and we’d love to pass these skills and traditions down to our children.
