Who We Are
We met during senior year of college through a mutual friend. After hitting it off from the start, we've been the light of each other's lives for the past 12 years. During this time, we took in a rescue kitty, lived in a number of cities, traveled, explored, married, bought a home and most recently added our puppy to our family.
We are incredibly close with both of our extended families and live about an hour and a half from them! Everyone in our lives including friends, family, co-workers, neighbors, and even the mailman, are all so supportive of our decision to adopt.
We feel blessed every single day and want to share our lives and our unconditional love with our children. We can't wait to be the "fun" parents, who coach soccer, take our kids on adventures, ride roller coasters, teach them all about nature and animals, and most importantly, make sure they always know how loved they are.
Jagger is our 11 year old rescue kitty. He is a total love who just wants to cuddle, play, watch birds and other critters from the windows in our house.
Penny is our newest addition! She is a few months older now, and she is very smart, loyal, loving, and incredibly well-trained. She loves her obedience classes and learning new things like swimming at our local beach.
Our families are very close and we are always going back and forth to their houses. Emily has an older brother and Mitch has two younger brothers. Our extended families are filled with cousins, aunts, and uncles, many of whom we see for special occasions, holidays, and annual family reunions. Our friends, family, co-workers, and everyone in our lives are so supportive and excited about our decision to adopt. In fact, Emily’s Aunt and Uncle referred us to Gladney who they worked with when adopting three little girls from Asia.
