Who We Are
Michael grew up in the Wisconsin countryside on a small family farm. Jessica was raised in the suburbs of St. Paul. Our love story began in 2010 at a hockey game in St. Paul, Minnesota. We fell in love with each other’s commitment to family, love of travel, and hard-working attitude. We dated for just less than two years before we were married under “our” tree at Jessica’s mother’s home; life was sort of whirlwind after that. We moved out of the country to live on the small, impoverished Caribbean island of Grenada for Michael’s medical education. We lived there for two years, learning to live a more simple and quiet life. Then to Detroit for two years, Madison WI for three years, and this summer just moved back to Minnesota where it all began. We bought a sweet home with lots of yard for your child to run around and explore. Along our journey we were blessed with two wonderful children and many people who will be lifelong friends. We are excited to be back by family and we would be more than happy to welcome your little baby with all the love we have to share!
Favorite way to relax: read a book
According to Jessica:
Michael is the most kind, thoughtful and selfless person I know. He is always putting others before himself, at home and at work. Michael is an incredible father and husband. After a long day at work he will come home and help with dinner and take the kids on adventures through the woods! Playing, reading, dishes and bedtime are just a few of the things he does for us daily. He really seems to cherish his time reading with the kids before bed. God knew what he was doing when he put Michael into my life. We are blessed to have such a loving man and great role model in our home.
Occupation: Stay-at-home Mom & Hair Stylist
Favorite way to relax: By a beach/pool in the sun
According to Michael:
Jessica is the most dedicated and loving wife and mother that I have ever seen. Her love is unconditional. She is a stay-at-home mom and works part time as a hairdresser. She is the sort of person who can strike up a conversation with anyone, and whose laugh is infectious. Her patience and love for this family is like no other. She puts her whole self into making our home, “our home.” She is definitely the soul of our family, and is always looking for ways to expand our love to those around us.
Our daughter Seraiah is five years old. She seems to understand the concept of adoption as we have friends and family who have adopted. Either way she is ecstatic about the thought of having your baby join our family! Seraiah is a very sweet, caring, smart little girl who loves to tell stories, dance, sing, read books and work on crafts. She adores church, and is enjoying kindergarten very much.
Our son Hawthorn (aka Hawk) is three and a half years old. He is a classic boys’ boy with the best smile. He loves to throw balls, play with cars/trucks/planes, and copy pretty much anything his sister does. He also enjoys cuddling up to read bible stories and books. Hawthorn loves to spend time with his baby cousin; he is so gentle with him and loves to make him smile and laugh. He is going to be such a sweet big brother.
US/ HOW WE CAME TO ADOPTION
God placed adoption on Jessica’s heart at a young age. Michael had always been open to it and in the last couple of years really knew it was the way we should grow our family. We are the happiest when we are sharing time together! We love sitting back and watching the siblings interact and play together, we would love your baby to be part of that. Being outside, dance parties and reading together are daily occurrences around here. We want to assure you, your baby will be loved unconditionally, have endless opportunities, support, and guidance to reach their fullest potential in all aspects of life. We embrace the amazing opportunity and diversity that adoption could bring to our home. We would love to stay connected and have an open relationship with you if that is what you would want. We know this is a small bit of our lives so please reach out if you have any questions or want to chat. Thank you so much for taking the time to get to know us a little better. May God bless you. We are continually praying for you and baby.
