We've been together for 14 years and married for 11. What brought us together? Music, of course. We met at famed New York radio station, Hot 97, where Yvette was vying for an internship and I was interviewing an on-air personality. Fast-forward to a couple of months later, we bumped into each other at a concert headlined by The Roots. And we've been inseparable ever since. We got married young (in our mid-20s) and have grown together personally and professionally. Yvette is a respected advertising executive and I'm a media authority on Latino pop culture...and we're both in the music industry. We are so ready to embark on the next chapter in our love story: being called Mami y Papi from a little one.
We live in a spacious 2-bedroom pre-war building in one of New York City's safest neighborhoods. We also have loving neighbors who we are sure will shower our child with love.
Communication is key! My husband is my soul mate but more importantly he is my best friend! I am a firm believer that there is no such thing as over communicating. We have the same values and beliefs and are beyond excited to pass that along to our child(ren). As a parent I look forward to passing on the same values and morals my parents gave to me.
As a husband, I obviously love my wife but I also communicate with her and make sure to value her above all else. I always have her interests in mind and am always there for her. If she falls I'm there to pick her up. As a parent I hope to do the same. I will always be there for our child. I also hope to pass on the loving traditions my parents instilled in me.
