Though we hail from and attended colleges on opposite coasts, a fateful Labor Day party in NYC brought us together in 2010. Not soon after our second momentous date, Rory suffered a devastating sports injury and was unable to walk for several months. This proved to be a trying time, but one that brought us closer in unexpected ways.
We quickly learned we had a ton in common (as well as differences that compliment one another). Our shared love of dogs and children led us to adopting two sweet and goofy rescue pooches and eventually our first daughter Layla.
We are now living in TWO beautiful family-ready home eagerly anticipating filling these rooms with more laughter and love!
Our primary residence at the moment is gorgeous house located in San Luis Obispo, California (recently named one of the happiest places to live in the country!). Layla loves exploring her California roots and enjoying the beautiful weather with plenty of outdoor activities.
Our beautiful 4-bedroom home sits on a stunning acre of land complete with a brook running through the front yard. We live in one of Westchester's most diverse communities with great schools, nature preserves, parks and family fun fairs as well as opportunities to ski, hike trails, enjoy nearby beaches or pick wild raspberries in the spring. Nature is right at our fingertips while the thrills and wonder of NYC are only a short commute away.
Rory grew up in the same home his parents still live in today in the desert of southern California.
Rory always had an obsession with maps as a child, which evolved into a love of travel and world exploration as an adult, and still often goes to bed reading an atlas.
He has a successful career as a computer programmer. He has always been a bit of a health and fitness nut and has maintained a very active life style still competing regularly in national basketball and football tournaments.
Rory loves taking care of his family and friends by cooking meals and organizing fun gatherings. He can't wait to expand his family and introduce his own children to his wonderment of travel, food and cultures.
Matt grew up in the same house on Long island for the first 18 years of his life. His dad was a teacher and coach and his mom worked as an administrator at the local high school.
Even at a young age, Matt had a strong bond with all animals, particularly dogs, as well as a deep love for his younger cousins. A passion for film and writing (especially Sci-Fi) led him to NYU where he studied those subjects.
Matt was also an avid lacrosse player as well as being interested in fitness which led him to work as a trainer on the side while entering the world of tv production once he graduated.
With his education and career settled, Matt was so happy to find Rory so that he could move forward with him most cherished goal, building a family of their own. To say he is ready for another kid would be a definite understatement!
