We're a fun, passionate + caring couple with a warm supportive home ready for baby! [call or text 734.845.9272]

Hi There! First we want to thank for considering an adoption plan + taking the time to learn a bit about us. We want you to know that we will always tell our children how much their birth parents love them! We truly want this to be a partnership and look forward to working with our birth mother/father to make a loving, supportive and consistent life for our child.

We've been married for 4 years and together nearly 7. We're a true team, we balance each other out + enjoy the little and big things life throws at us. We love big, laugh a lot and live with kindness, affection, and support. We are so excited to be parents and can’t wait to celebrate holidays, take trips and enjoy the everyday with our children.

We know these profiles all look alike so here are a few quick things about us….
Kel Leigh:
I’m creative, empathetic, sarcastic, a bit of a dreamer and organized.
· Loves to…. Decorate our home for holidays!
· Craves….. Coffee, strong with half+half (and carbs, because they‘re
delicious!)
· Fav….. Creating, well anything really and home DIY projects,

Jeff
I’m open minded, affectionate, honorable and realistic
· Loves to….. Read, watch movies and go out to dinner
· Craves….. Sweets
· Fav….. Being near large bodies of water

We know this is a difficult decision and we hope we can bring you some peace of mind and confidence in the unwavering love, support, care and encouragement this child will receive from us.

We look forward to getting to know you,

Who We Are

We met online in the Spring of 2012 and had our first date at a local restaurant. We spent the entire time, over 6 hours, talking and laughing and only ended the date after the restaurant was closing for the night. We’ve been together ever since.

Jeff proposed in Florida, at his parents home under the “diamond tree”, [it’s a tree with multiple trunks that intersect and twist around each other + there’s a large diamond in the middle made of the intersecting trunks].

We were married in 2014 in a Historic Opera House surrounded by our friends and families. A few months after we were married we purchased our home, it’s the house Kel Leigh and her sister were raised in and before that it was her maternal grandparents home. We live in a small town with the best neighbors
[Kel Leigh’s sister, brother-in-law and 6 year old nephew live next door], and are within walking distance to our historic downtown, shops, restaurants, police, fire station and the library.

We’ve each always wanted to be parents and that feeling only intensified once we met. We began trying to get pregnant right after we were married. We suffered a few miscarriages and had some tests, medications and procedures and were presented with our options of IVF or adoption. We had a lot of conversations about what we wanted for our life and how we could make that happen. The thing we kept coming back to was, we want to be parents. We want to be our childs safe place. We want to give them unwavering love and support even when they are pushing our buttons. We want to give them wonderful memories of big trips to Florida, Disney World and road trips out West, magical Christmases with traditions we had when we were kids, a home that goes all out decorating and celebrating holidays and birthdays, a great foundation of learning and striving for the things they want in life……..and the best way for us to make this happen is through adoption. We know in our hearts adoption is how we will grow our family and we are so excited to be here!

Adoption Diary

adoption is messy + beautiful + heartbreaking. | 2.7.19 |

Just after Thanksgiving last year we met with an expectant couple who were considering an adoption plan. It was all very quick. We met on Wednesday, she had a c-section scheduled for Thursday and they decided we would be assigned custody of the twin girls she was carrying on Friday. We were over the moon. Two sweet girls! So we packed hospital bags, made arrangements for our pets and home, and mentally prepared ourselves for being responsible for two babies (who would be born at 33.5 weeks) and their NICU stay.

Friday morning we received a call from Ellie at our agency. They had decided to parent. We were happy and sad all at the same time. Sad for us and yet, so happy for them that they chose what was best for them and their family. Please know, we’re not saying this because “it’s the right thing to say”.  It took some time and education but this is honestly how we feel. As prepared as we were to be their parents and love them so completely - we weren’t their parents yet and never would be.

As much as we felt during this we know it didn’t compare to what they were feeling and going through. We can’t imagine what expectant parents go through, and would never presume to. We can only hope to support and love them as they need. We also carry this love around in our hearts for our children, we just haven’t met them yet.

We still think of these girls and their parents and hope they’re all well. way,  It’s like we’re still connected in some small unique way, like they’re apart of our story and our family and yet they aren’t…….  I’ll always wonder about these girls, the children and young women they’ll become.

sun + snow.  | 1.31.19 |

It’s so cold. Like -20ish with the wind chill cold. Like, it’s painful to breath when you step outside cold. Today was sunny with clear blue skies. It was beautiful. It almost makes the frigid temps (frostbite in 60 seconds!) not so bad.
Tucker, our lab wasn’t impressed. He went outside this morning after his breakfast and in less than 3 minutes was crying, making the most pitiful sound shaking on the step, lifting his paws off the ground one at a time, changing from one paw to another. He is not a fan of this cold. He’s usually our dog that constantly asks to go out, he loves to be outside but he hasn’t asked once after this morning. (I did make them go out real quick this afternoon).
But Daphne (our sheltie) with her 5 layers of fur was made for this weather. She loves to bound through the snow, pouncing like a cat or chasing reflections when the sun’s out like today. (she’ll chase the light from a flashlight or shadows on the wall. she’s kooky but we love her.)
She tries so hard to get Tucker to play but he’s all business when he’s taking care of business, if ya know what i mean?......bad joke, I know.
The cats on the other hand (milo + oscar) haven’t left my side or lap trying to stay warm. I’ll take all the sweet cat snuggles I can get.
It’s supposed to start to get warmer this weekend. It’s perfect weather for indoor projects. Our basement is in dire need of attention and boy is it gonna get it!
