We have been together for 14 years. We met online while Pankaj was in Seattle, WA and Neeti was in Bangalore, India. We dated online and as fate would have it, Neeti ended up moving to Seattle for work, and we have been together ever since! We moved to California five years ago after living for ten years in Seattle, and now live in a small town in the “Silicon Valley” area south of San Francisco. It is a safe and beautiful community surrounded by parks and trails.
Our weekdays always start with a cup of tea and breakfast together in the morning before we go to work. Each evening we cook dinner together and go for an evening stroll. We both look forward to this time together as it allows us to share our day with each other. After that we either put on some Netflix or relax with some music and reading. Our weekends are often spent with friends and family, sometimes sharing dinners with a variety of cuisines from Mexican to elaborate Indian meals. We love to travel. We take trips to various National Parks each year—this year we visited Zion, Grand Canyon and Yosemite National Park. We also have the good fortune to visit other countries regularly, where we love experiencing diverse cultures and ideas. In recent trips, we especially loved the churches in Barcelona, Spain and the 2,000-year-old Colosseum in Rome.
We are excited imagining our child sharing our morning breakfasts and taking walks in the evening or bicycling with our child. We can’t wait for our child to experience the many kid-friendly activities in the Bay Area and beyond: Going to zoos, aquariums, water parks and Legoland, and enjoying Pixar movies and Harry Potter books together. We look forward to sharing our holiday traditions from Thanksgiving dinner to the excitement of Christmas morning.
We live in a spacious three-bedroom condominium in a safe and beautiful town in Silicon Valley and one of the most-desired neighborhoods in the country. The house is warm, airy and full of light, with a balcony overlooking a courtyard filled with infants and toddlers in the evening. With her interior de- sign skills, Neeti looks forward to creating a great nursery and play area in our home. We have two lovely parks within walk- ing distance, which are a gathering point for parents and children of all ages in the neighborhood. We live in a top rated school district, that is also very kid-friendly, with various community-run swimming pools within walking distance and easy access to libraries and museums.
Neeti is one of the kindest and most loyal people that I know. That and her beautiful smile and infectious laughter were what drew me to her when we first met. She puts everyone at ease around her and makes them feel welcome.
Neeti was born in India. Her family moved to Kenya, Africa when she was 3, and she lived there until she was 8, when her family moved back to India. Her father was a school teacher and her mother was a homemaker and they provided Neeti with a strong set of values. Be- cause of her diverse background, Neeti is very comfortable with people from different races and cultures. She went to high school and got a college degree in Architecture while in India. Neeti continued her education in the US in certificate programs at UC Berkley and Stanford University while working full time. She has established herself as an expert in the software industry, and is now a program manager at one of the premiere software companies in the world.
Neeti has a passion for interior design and loves to create a home that is warm and inviting. She loves helping our friends and family creating spaces in their homes that are inviting for everyone to relax in and enjoy their time together. Neeti also loves to get out in nature, and I especially look forward to the long walks and hikes we take together.
Neeti is a “natural” with infants and children, having helped care for nieces, nephew and our friends’ children. Her caring and selflessness will provide a warm and loving environment for our child.
Pankaj is loyal and sensitive
to the needs of those around
him. People often turn to
him when they need advice or help, and he gets great personal satisfaction in providing that support. He is easy-going and does not get bothered with small things. Despite having had great success in his life, he is very humble and down to earth.
Pankaj was raised in India, the youngest of three brothers. His father was a small business owner and mother was a homemaker who raised him with an exceptional moral compass and encouraged him to pursue his passion in math and science. He went to a Catholic high school before attending one of the premier universities in India, getting his degree in engineering. He then moved to Ohio to do post-graduate work (where he also became a big fan of college football!). He moved to Seattle to work for Microsoft, which is where I met him. He currently works as a manager in one of the largest software companies in the world.
Pankaj loves the outdoors. He is a cyclist and hiker, and loves to challenge himself. Last year he accomplished his goal of hiking up Half Dome in Yosemite National Park. Pankaj also volunteers for nonprofits who help at-risk children. At home, Pankaj enjoys reading on his Kindle, listening to his very diverse taste in music (Classical to Hip-hop) and catching up on thrillers on Netflix.
Pankaj is able to establish trust with kids very quickly and spends a lot of time playing with them and doing activities that are interesting to them, whether that be as simple as playing board games or as elaborate as putting on talent shows with them.
