We’ve been married for more than five years and we live in a historic city in sunny Georgia. We work for an art and design university. John is a sequential art professor (he teaches students how to be comic artists!) and Erin is a vice president, overseeing the university’s accreditation and quality assurance.
John grew up in Tennessee and was raised by a single mom who worked extremely hard to ensure that John accomplished his dreams. John has children from a previous marriage and he and Erin co-parent with their mom, who lives just down the street.
Erin grew up in Connecticut, but has called the South home since she was 16. She fully embraces “y’all” and “all y’all” as pronouns.
We love traveling and can’t wait to show your child the world. In just the last few years we visited Hong Kong, St. Thomas, Puerto Rico, Mexico, Jamaica, France, the Dominican Republic, and quite a bit of the United States.
We live in a four-bedroom, two-bathroom home on an oak tree-lined street in a historic district in Georgia. We have a fenced-in backyard, amazing neighbors and a beautiful park just a few homes down. We have two pups -- Buttercup and Bluebell -- that are best buds and two cats who like to knock things off of tables at 4am (but we love them anyway).
John is a doting father to his children from his previous marriage -- from school plays to soccer games -- he's always there. He can't wait to have the same opportunity to shower a baby with Erin with the same love and attention. John is a true educator, and has been teaching for more than 15 years. Prior to this he was a professional comic book artist, contributing to mainstream/major comic books. Now most of his drawing and painting is for fun and he loves to share his artwork to help inspire his students.
Erin grew up the oldest of three and has dreamed of being a mom for as long as she can remember. When she and John married, she fully embraced the role of step-mom, but still hopes that they can complete their family through adoption. From home-made Halloween costumes to visiting Yellowstone National Park this summer, she loves creating fun family experiences for the kids. She loves sports and staying healthy, but loves cooking and eating too!
