We grew up in Christian homes in small town Tennessee. We met in high school and married soon after graduation. We immediately moved away to begin college and worked our way all the way through grad school together, supporting each other, and pursuing our dreams together.
After college we moved a few times to take opportunities that came our way; Theresa got a job offer from a big firm in Atlanta, Baron worked as a writer and technical director before founding our own non-profit charity.
We worked and traveled a lot over the next 16 years, managing projects in Russia, Uzbekistan, Pakistan, and Thailand. In 2010 Theresa formed her own accounting firm which she continues to run today. in 2017 Baron semi-retired from foreign field work and now consults with other agencies and speaks about his experiences from time to time.
We are also still active in the non-profit we formed.
When we fell in love and married we spent the first 20 years investing in our career and building our life always believing that someday we would raise a little girl. We had every intention of starting a family but 5 years became 5 more years then 5 more until one day we woke up realizing we had let the most important piece of our life slip by us. We have a beautiful life, beautiful love and relationship but the one thing we regret is not having our girl.
We have experienced such a shift over the last couple of years and our hearts have turned totally toward having and raising a child. Where we once were so focused on what was outside and forward in nature, now we are very much in tune with what is in our hand today and what can we contribute to a living human being in our own home right now.
Though we don't even know her yet, we are so in love with her and daily dream and imagine what we can give her to help her and provide the space and energy she will need to fulfill her wildest dreams.
Some may say that we have waited to late to begin this part of our lives, but I tend to think it has come at exactly the right time because we are ready for this, we have a lot of experience and wisdom to share, and have failed enough on our own to know what it will take for her to have success.
Our "someday" has come, and we are full of hope and happiness because of it.
Our home is in the Panhandle of Florida.
We have a wonderful neighborhood where everyone is connected and close nit. There is a great family atmosphere where we share cookouts on holidays and impromptu pool parties.
We are just a few minutes from the South Walton Beaches where there are always fun family oriented things to do.
We love the water and enjoy boating with friends, stand up paddle boarding or even a bicycle ride down a quiet beach road.
Our home is an open and happy place where we enjoy hosting family and friends for hang outs and getaways.
