We met during a special time of year while we were celebrating Christmas. Kasey was on a holiday break visiting his family and David was in Richmond away from his family back in Nebraska. David was not alone for long as he quickly and easily fit into family time with the Kolste family. We fell for each other quickly and Kasey eventually moved to Richmond a half year later. We knew from the start that a big part of building our life together was going to involve creating a family together.
Our lives are full of family, friends, and adventures. We frequently travel back to Nebraska and Montana and actually traveled to both when we were married in Glacier National Park in Montana. We are blessed with not only an amazing family, but we had developed a rewarding community of friends here in Virginia. We feel fortunate that we also have had opportunities to travel to many corners of our country and also abroad.
Living meaningful lives in our Richmond community provide a lot of joy to us. We are the parents of two furry children, Oliver and Oscar, who are quite adventurous themselves frequently accompanying us on family hikes and adventures. We both work in careers that are rewarding and allow us to feel like we are contributing to our community. Kasey is a 4th grade teacher and has been in the profession for over fifteen years. David is the Vice President of Philanthropy for Boys and Girls Clubs of Richmond and has worked in the non-profit field for almost ten years. We love spending time with our friends and family. We consider ourselves adventurous and definitely appreciate the great outdoors! Hiking and camping are common weekend activities that we enjoy with our friends.
We count our blessings every day and are thankful for our rewarding life together. David has a sister and brother who are both married with growing families. Kasey has two brothers and two sisters who are also married with established families. Collectively, we are the proud uncles of eight nephews and two nieces ranging in age from less than a year old to 26 years old. Family is the pinnacle of our life together and we hope to expand our family and the blessings and joy that we are already experiencing.
We have just recently moved into our dream home. Our brick colonial has plenty of character and room. Build in 1926, our four bedroom house has a sun room off of one of the bedrooms and a basement as well. We are a block from a community park and we are excited about the diverse group of neighbors we have. We have always said that a front stoop is ideal for fostering a welcoming environment and we can't wait to put our swing on the front porch to good use.
David is a passionate and enthusiastic person. As a partner, he is inspiring and a beacon of positive energy. His excellent communication skills and ability to think through and solve problems make him an outstanding partner in life. David will be able to use all of the traits that make him such an amazing partners to provide love and support for our child. His passion, enthusiasm, and communication skills will help to lay the foundation for a nurturing environment for our growing family.
Kasey's compassion emulates through everything he does. His patience, kindness, and empathy drive him everyday. These traits make him a wonderful partner to share in the daily triumphs and struggles. His ability to instantly connect with children will make Kasey an exceptional parent. His passions for knowledge, adventure, and education shine through. Kasey will be a parent who will challenge his children to discover the intricacies and wonders of the world around us.
