We’ve known one another for most of our lives. We grew up in the same hometown (about a mile apart). We lost touch after high school when Lauren’s family moved away. We went in completely different directions for college, with Lauren excelling at history and English and Robyn in math and the sciences - we make a great trivia team! Believe it or not, we both actually use our degrees in our professional life. We reconnected in 2013, and knew right away together is where we belong! We were married in November 2015, and couldn’t be happier.
We love our family, and we spend a great deal of time with them. They can’t wait for us to have a baby to share in all of our special times.
Lauren is an only child, but has three older half-siblings. Her maternal family all live on the same 100-acre area of farmland about an hour away, and we're very close with all of them.
Robyn is the middle child of three girls, and she has a very large extended family who lives within an hour’s drive, who we see often.
In our house, one of our favorite times of year is the weekend after Thanksgiving, when we pick out and put up our Christmas tree. We also love the beginning of SEC football season, and typically have a party for the University of Georgia vs. Auburn University game.
We always knew we wanted children, and it seemed like the most straightforward way would be for one of us to carry a child, but quickly found in our hearts that adoption is the right way for us to have our family. We are both nurturers and cannot wait to share that with a child of our own.
Our mantra is, “the more people who love a child the better,” and we look forward to working with our birth mother to find the right balance for everyone.
Our 1950’s ranch style home has three bedrooms and two bathrooms, original hardwood floors, and an updated kitchen with a large screened in porch, deck, and huge privacy-fenced back yard (perfect for a swing set some day!). Most evenings you can find us congregating with our neighbors at the end of our driveways while the children ride bikes or play T-ball in the street (it is a dead-end street, so no traffic). We’re in a highly acclaimed school system, close to many parks, museums, and a lot of other family friendly activities. We enjoy DIY projects in our home, gardening, and spending time with our dogs (Bo and Harvard), family, and friends.
