We met online 13 years ago and instantly felt a connection to each other. At the time, Chris was a single dad of two daughters. Our first date was at a Mexican restaurant. After dinner we walked around Carrie's hometown and talked late into the evening. This first date experience has become a tradition each year on our anniversary. We dated for six months before Carrie moved in with Chris and his two daughters. Shortly there after, Chris proposed. We were married one year later in a waterfront ceremony in front of our family and friends. We love children and have wanted to have a child together for years. Amazingly, Chris recently connected with a daughter he had placed for adoption 20 years earlier. It has been a wonderful reunion and led us to believe that adoption could be a new found hope for becoming "Mommy and Daddy" and sharing our love with a child.
We live in a condo complex community with residents of all ages and ethnicities. Through out the year there are holiday parties where everyone can share their favorite dishes. On July 4th each year, we sit out in the parking lot and watch the fireworks from the local high school. When the weather is nice we get together to play games, eat and enjoy sunny days in the pool. We loved the pool so much, we had our wedding rehearsal dinner around it.
My Husband Chris
(written by Carrie)
Chris is my best friend, my other half, my biggest supporter and the love of my life. He is thoughtful, smart, hardworking and an enthusiastic partner in life. What I love most about Chris is his warm heart and ability to see the good in all. Chris is the best father I know -having raised two of his daughters as a single father. He lives life to the fullest and reminds me everyday how much I am loved. He loves to grill, watch sport, skydive, travel, spend time with friends and play with our dog.
Chris as a Dad
Chris is an amazing dad! He has raised his daughters to be the best that they can be and with the belief that life has endless possibilities for them to capture. Our young niece is always excited to see him and they have a great relationship. He teaches her that she is beautiful, hardworking and loved. I know he will teach our child the same valuable lessons.
My Wife Carrie
(written by Chris)
My amazing wife Carrie is the love and light of my life. Not a day goes by that we don't exchange a text or a random phone call just to say "I Love You". She is truly the greatest gift I have ever received and I can't thank her parents enough for giving me their blessing to marry her. Carrie has an amazing outlook on life that is contagious to those around her. She loves to host parties, bake and plan our next big adventure. Carrie has a wonderful group of friends that she enjoys getting together with. God broke the mold when he made her.
Carrie as a Mom
Carrie is going to be a great mom. She grew up in a loving, close knit home that values faith, family and friends. Compassion is a tremendous strength of hers and I know she has so much love to offer. She has lived with and loved my daughters as if they were her own, but we want all the joys of raising a child from birth together and I can't wait to do that with her. "Aunt Carrie" as she is affectionately called by her niece, knows just how to make kids smile, laugh or feel as if they can accomplish anything. I can't wait for her to be a mother.
