We are Carrie and Chris. We are so thankful that you are taking the time to consider us to be a part of your child's life and give us the gift of becoming parents.
We can relate to the feelings you are having through this process because Chris once made the same decision you are considering (read on).
We met online 13 years ago and instantly felt a connection to each other. At the time, Chris was a single dad of two daughters. Our first date was at a Mexican restaurant. After dinner we walked around Carrie's hometown and talked late into the evening. This first date experience has become a tradition each year on our anniversary. We dated for six months before Carrie moved in with Chris and his two daughters. Shortly there after, Chris proposed. We were married one year later in a waterfront ceremony in front of our family and friends. We love children and have wanted to have a child together for years. Amazingly, Chris recently connected with a daughter he had placed for adoption 20 years earlier. It has been a wonderful reunion and led us to believe that adoption could be a new found hope for becoming "Mommy and Daddy" and sharing our love with a child.
Loving what she does, Carrie likes to provide amazing experiences for her dance students. This past weekend Carrie, Chris and Carrie’s Mom chaperoned some of Carrie’s students on a field trip to NYC. Everyone got to see Kinky Boots on broadway. The icing on the cake was after the show, a performer from the show who had taught a master class for Carrie’s students, invited everyone backstage to see the set. Seeing each students eyes light up and do the choreography they learned on the broadway stage, was heart warming.
We love holidays like this.
We spend the morning swimming in the pool with some of our neighbors and their children in our condo complex. The weather has been sunny and hot, but great for the pool. We then took a trip to the local grocery store to get some items for Carrie to make a holiday treat. Strawberries and blueberries with whipped cream cheese, cool whip, vanilla extract and powdered sugar. We can’t wait to share them with our neighbors tonight as we watch fireworks from our home. The fireworks are so beautiful and can be seen high over trees. We even light sparklers and wear glow sticks.
