We have been happily married for almost ten years. We were brought together by our love for travel, our open minds, and our shared family values. We met when Angel was in law school and Cory was an Apprentice Ironworker. Both Cory and Angel have successful careers balanced against a strong family-centric home life. We have a six year old daughter, Elle, and a one-year old puppy, Fenwick. Elle is a beautiful, happy little girl who absolutely loves anything to do with water, which is perfect as we live on Lake Michigan. Fenwick, a Labradoodle, also loves the lake and adores kids.
We love to travel, and have been all around the world. We would love to instill our wanderlust in our children - and already have a few stamps in Elle’s passport. Angel is an avid reader, and soaks up as much knowledge about as many topics as possible. Cory is much more adventurous, and takes the family on adventures ranging from snowboarding to paddle boarding.
We are not able to have any more children naturally but are so excited about adoption, as both of us were raised by step- and adoptive parents. We’ve always loved the phrase “it takes a village to raise a child” and believe the more people who love a child, the better off they will be in life.
Imagine a neighborhood where all of the homes are uniquely designed, nature prevails, you don’t have to lock your doors, your neighbors are friendly and you can hear the sound of waves crashing at the beach which is just a short walk away. That is where we live! We absolutely love our home, nestled in a small beach community. We renovated our home to fit our needs, and enjoy not just the home, but the community which includes a private beach, hiking trails, a soccer field, and two parks.
Cory is a true Sagittarius. He loves adventure - from paddle boarding on the lake, to snow mobiling, to snorkeling on our annual family vacation. He has a successful career as a Union Ironworker, and was elected to serve on the executive board the last two terms, where he is responsible for helping establish policy and protect tenants of the Union. He served his country for eight years in the US Army National Guard. Cory is a loving husband, doting father, and true friend to many.
Cory has siblings through marriage, and remains close to his sister, nieces and nephews.
Angel is an attorney by trade, but her true calling is as a mother. Like Cory, she has a successful career at a large bank in Chicago, and has found a balance between work and home through a modified schedule that allows her to be home three days a week. Angel spent her childhood on the East coast - Delaware, Maryland, Pennsylvania, and spent much time near the ocean. She has a love for all things to do with the beach, which shows with the nautical home!
Angel obtained her Juris Doctorate degree, and spent time interning with the US Army JAG and with a US Senator during law school. She loves to travel, spent time in Switzerland for a study abroad, and married Cory in Cape Town, South Africa while they were both volunteering.
Angel grew up as the eldest of four children. Given the age difference between her and her youngest twin sisters (17 years difference), she was more like a second mom.
