We met on Match.com. Yep, internet dating really works! After spending 5 years working and living in Chicago, IL Aaron missed home and decided to return to Milwaukee, WI. Three weeks after moving back, Aaron clicked on Kate's match profile and emailed her. Our first date was drinks where we spent hours chatting. Turned out we grew up blocks from each other, went to neighboring Catholic grade schools AND Aaron's Aunt and Uncle lived next door to Kate's family. We were sure we played together as kids. We quickly fell in love and realized we were soul mates. After 10 months of dating, Aaron got down on one knee and proposed to Kate on the beach in Mexico. We were married in 2013 on a cozy January night surrounded by our closest friends and family.
In 2015, through adoption, we became a family rather quickly. On a Thursday we got the call that a birth mom had given birth to a healthy baby girl and she wanted to meet us and only us. By Saturday we picked up our daughter. It was a whirlwind of the best possible kind. We, along with our daughter's birth mom, often talk about the feeling we both got when we met each other. We feel it was fate, just meant to be. We see our daughter's birth mom 3-4 times a year, text photos and have a Shutterfly account where we upload photos. We are very thankful for her selfless decision and for choosing us to be our daughter's Mom and Dad.
Our parenting approach is relaxed, calm and fun. We strive to provide a positive, nurturing environment where our children feel respected, supported and loved. We value diversity, do not judge and are accepting of others regardless of race, religion, life choices and beliefs. We hope to teach our children the power of gratitude and acceptance. As a family we love living room dance parties, grilling out, hiking, biking, farmers markets, sitting on our porch with giant bowls of ice cream...really anything outside.
Due to our growing family, we recently built a home 25 miles away from Milwaukee, WI. It's the best of both worlds...close to the city but in the country. Our subdivision sits next to an apple orchard, pumpkin farm and general store that sells pies, cheese and fresh veggies. We love all the nature, lakes and sense of community. The schools are rated top in the state and we live blocks from 2 lakes, parks, the YMCA and schools. Our subdivision is all about family. There are hundreds of kids and amazing neighbors. The neighborhoods has weekend get-togethers, block parties, a 4th of July parade, bonfires, football parties, you name it!
Hi, I'm Aaron! Lover of nature, soul music, jeopardy, Hulk Hogan (childhood idol), grilling out and singing made up songs about normal life stuff (cutting the grass, doing the dishes). I graduated from Marquette University in Milwaukee, WI and work as a Marketing Manager at a local performing arts venue. Becoming a Father has been my greatest accomplishment. I am eager and excited to grow our family through adoption.
WHAT KATE LOVES ABOUT AARON....
He's the kindest, most patient man I have ever known. He always puts our families needs before his, always.
I love watching Aaron grow as a Father. He is the sweetest, most loving Daddy. When he walks into the room, our daughter's eyes just light up.
He's brilliant. His vocabulary is impeccable. He could totally win Jeopardy.
He is ALWAYS the funniest person in the room. I've been known to throw myself on the ground overcome with laughter.
He cooks for us every night and the food is so thoughtful and yummy.
He's tall (over 6"4) and a total hunk. Although he doesn't think he is. :)
He makes friends with anyone, anywhere. He's truly interested in people and their story.
He accepts me and loves me unconditionally. I feel so lucky that he choose me to love forever.
He dances with our daughter and I to cheesy live bands, in front of large crowds, in the rain ...just to make us happy.
Hi, I'm Kate. Lover of working out, biking, sushi, chips & salsa, farmers markets and random dance parties. I work in human resource management leading a team of recruiters who find people jobs. I am a breast cancer survivor (10 years in March 2018!) and co-founded/lead a support group for young women affected by breast cancer. Although I find both my career and volunteer time rewarding, being a Mommy is my greatest reward.
WHAT AARON LOVES ABOUT KATE....
Kate is an amazing Mom! Each day...in every interaction with our daughter...her warm, patience, kindness and FUN attitude shine through. I always knew Kate would be a great Mother, but watching her interact with our daughter on a daily basis makes me love and respect her more than I ever though possible.
She has relentless positive energy. If you're feeling down, spend some time around Kate. Her upbeat attitude and non-stop energy are bound to perk you up.
She's goofy...just like me. Silly faces out of the blue, impromptu dance parties...she keeps us laughing.
Her family and friends ALWAYS come first. Whether it's a birthday, anniversary, life milestone of just because, Kate makes sure the important people in her life feel special.
She's an amazing planner and brings people together. While other people just talk about making fun plans, Kate's the type that ACTUALLY makes things happen.
Kate is the strongest woman I've ever met. She has worked incredibly hard to build a successful career, and her battle with breast cancer is firmly in the rear-view window. Kate lets nothing stand in her way.
