We met in 2005 during practice on a local flag football league. There was an instantaneous connection! We had a lot in common and became immediate friends. We actually grew up only 8 miles from each other yet we never crossed paths! We quickly fell in love and married in 2012 and have been very happy.
We both love the outdoors, running, the arts, sports, music – and spending quality time with a great group of friends and family. We can’t wait to teach our child about the arts and different activities. Eddie is a great artist and will pass along his drawing techniques to our child. If our child enjoys it we can go to baseball and football games and more, with Ralph passing along his great experiences. If they love the water as much as we do, Eddie was a lifeguard growing up and will teach our child how to safely enjoy the pool and beach.
We still love playing football, especially on the beach at our summer house. Summertime for our child will be filled with plenty of outdoor laughs and activities with friends and their kids in our yard and pool.
We especially love food and cooking and are always trying to perfect our families’ recipes. We love hosting our loved ones at our home in Brooklyn, NY – we treasure quality time and our child will love joining in the fun.
We look forward to passing along our best family traditions and recipes, from Ralph’s family’s pizza to Eddie’s Polish grandmother’s cabbage roles to Eddie’s Italian grandmother’s awesome stuffed artichokes.
We both grew up Christian/Catholic and remain spiritual individuals, which we want to instill in our child. We will teach our child to be kind, thoughtful, and caring. At early ages, we both learned the value of trying our best and working for what was important to us. We both worked through college to start our careers. Eddie pursued his passion for wellness and taking care of people and earned a Doctorate degree in Chiropractic Medicine. He has established his own Chiropractic practice with a loyal patient following. Ralph earned his degree in Chemical Engineering and pursued a path in consulting and pharmaceuticals and currently is an executive at a top pharmaceutical company. Our careers allow us great flexibility when it comes to raising our child, with our ability to take time off for paternity leave and arrange flexible hours between us to be active parents. We also have eager parents who want to help, and they live close by!
Seeing the joys, challenges, and triumphs of the families around us has inspired us and has made us want to build our own family even more. We would be so fortunate to be able to adopt a child and love them with our fullest hearts, nurture and support their development, provide them family and friends, and give them experiences to grow and become the wonderful people they were born to be.
We promise to tell our child how they came into the world and the brave, beautiful decision you made to place him or her for adoption. We will make sure our child knows that you love them and that you wanted to place him or her in the care of a family who could take care of them at a time when you were not able to. We will be forever grateful for this decision you are making and that we all came together to give your child a wonderful life.
Our home has a backyard and plenty of room for children and is in a wonderful neighborhood filled with young families. Our child will experience top-rated schools and parks and exciting cultural places like the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens, Brooklyn Academy of Music, and much more.
We are fortunate to also have a weekend/summer home about 2 hours drive from Brooklyn, that has a yard and pool and is 5 minutes from the beach.
We have been very blessed to adopt our dog, Sable, 4 years ago from an animal rescue. He is a Labrador and Hound mix that brings nothing but endless joy to our lives and has been wonderful with all the kids around him.
Our child will love our friends & family summerhouse sleepovers and the kids enjoy it even more with Sable, our dog.
Between our friends and families, our child will grow up with a lot of other kids. First and foremost are our nephew Joshua, our niece Olivia, and our twin niece and nephew, Isabel and Jordan. It is such a joy being uncles and getting to spend quality time to laugh and experience so much with them. They all live close by, too! We vacation together, share every holiday and birthday together, and love the quality times. They have further strengthened our desire to become parents. Many of our close friends have children and we love to spend time and travel with them, too. We love them all dearly.
Our warm circle of family and friends are excited about us beginning our family and will welcome our child with open hearts. There are also diverse families in our lives, including families of different religions, different races, and with children from adoption and surrogacy. We have the ability to expose our child to these different families, races, cultures, and religions, as well as all of the arts and culture of the city of New York.
I was born in Sewaren, New Jersey and grew up with my mom, JoAnn; dad, Eddie; and older sister, Bridget. My sister and I are only 14 months apart so we were very close and basically did everything together. Thirteen years ago my sister had my amazing nephew, Joshua. We love spending time together, whether it’s during sleepovers or eating his favorite food, sushi.
Growing up, my parents were both loving, nurturing, and very supportive. They did everything in their power to make us happy. We were always surrounded by an amazing and loving network of family, including our grandparents, aunts, uncles, and many cousins. We usually got together for all of the birthdays and holidays. We still have very active and fun family celebrations that our child will enjoy. My family is also excited and very much looking forward to us starting our family.
Ralph on Eddie:
"I have been very blessed to find Eddie as he is so supportive, loving, funny, and caring beyond what I could have hoped for. We make a great team, balance each other, and have such a good time together. He always is making sure I eat well and take time to take care of myself. He has been an incredible uncle, always able to settle the babies by cradling them and making them laugh. I know he is going to be an amazing father."
I grew up in Staten Island, NY, and come from a large, predominately Italian-American family and enjoyed all of the benefits of that close family dynamic. I have amazing parents, Anne and Augie, who are devoted to their family. I have a younger sister, Kristen, who is a great person and along with her husband, Abiy, are dear friends. Kristen and Abiy have 3 wonderful children who we love dearly and see often: Olivia (3 years old) and Jordan and Isabel (almost 1 year old twins).
I am blessed with many aunts, uncles, cousins and good friends, many of whom I have had since childhood. Everyone is still close in our lives and excited for us to adopt a child and start a family. We all can’t wait for our child to be a part of the many holiday, birthday, and vacation experiences we share!
Eddie on Ralph:
"He is the most amazing, caring, loving, and nurturing man. We complement each other perfectly. We truly make a great team. I could not imagine my life with anyone else and cannot wait to grow our family together. Ralph is so good at making up games on the spur of the moment for the kids and keeping kids of all ages always entertained."
