Hi!

Our names are Carl, Laura and Nicholas and we want to thank you for taking the time to browse through our profile as you consider us as potential family members for yourself and for your baby. We admire your courage and bravery and want to assure you that with us your child will be brought up in a loving home filled with laughter, smiles, tickles, hugs, plenty of snuggling, and saying "I love you" on a daily basis.

We are excited to grow our family through adoption and see it as a beautiful blessing from God. Carl has several family members who have adopted and we both know several families through church who have adopted as well. We look forward to getting to know you and your hopes and dreams for your baby and beginning this next chapter of both our lives!

Who We Are

Carl and I are both hard-working and loving parents. We believe children need to be shown love and affection while maintaining a structured home life. We love our son tremendously but have always wanted two children to make our family complete. After experiencing several miscarriages we decided God was showing us an open window to build our family through adoption and we are excited to do so! We will be celebrating our 10th wedding anniversary this fall and have the excitement and resources to raise our children with many joyous and exciting experiences!
We both enjoy being outside and going places like the beach and the lake. Just this summer we took a family trip to Alaska! We often cook dinner and eat together, watch movies, television shows and take walks together. We attend church on a weekly basis where I am involved in a Wednesday night women's group and I sometimes teach Sunday School. Carl occasionally works the video camera for the Livestream broadcast and Nicholas attends Sunday School weekly. Faith has been a huge part of our lives and through our adoption journey and will continue to play a huge role in raising our children.

When it comes to parenting Carl and I are truly a team. We equally do things together with our son including playing Lego's, playing super heroes and sharing the responsibility of getting him ready for school and bedtime. Being able to count on each other has allowed us to really enjoy being parents and want to do it again!

Speaking of our son, Nicholas is a very active and friendly five-year old. He enjoys playing on his fort outside, jumping on the trampoline, riding his bike, running, and playing most sports. His teachers describe him as a good listener and very friendly toward his peers. He is very kind and gentle with our pets. When we are around friends and family with young children he is also very gentle and loving. Our friends and family have told us (and we know this) that he is going to be a great big brother one day!

Adoption Diary

Family Beach week

We just got back from a family beach trip in Nags Head, NC.  I loved everything about it including the rustic house with wooden floors, being able to look out the windows and see the ocean’s horizon and being able to just walk out onto the beach and not have to load up the cars with a billion beach toys to get down there.  One of the best parts of our trip was getting to see my cousin’s baby Olivia.  She is almost 8 months old and as cute as can be!  I held her for a long time both down on the beach getting her toes wet and up at the house while the kids kept coming up to her tickling her.  Nicholas enjoyed her as well.  He rocked her in her car seat one afternoon until she fell asleep, dangled toys in front her her and just wanted to hold her (until she started to cry of course).  Carl also offered and enjoyed holding her so that her mother, my cousin, could eat dinner with her hands free.  Spending time with baby Olivia gave me a sense of assurance that this is what I want and can’t wait to experience!

Busy summer!

We’ve done a lot this summer between traveling to Alaska to visit Carl’s brother, a week at Lake Gaston, and spdending time at the beach!  In between trips when we’re home Nick goes to “camp” 3 days a week and the other two days we’ve enjoyed going places locally such as the rive, the zoo and the local pool!

Thank You for Visiting Our Adoption Profile

We want to thank you for considering us as adoptive parents for your child.

We truly appreciate your kindness and strength and look forward to hearing from you.

Sincerely,

Carl & Laura
