We are a very loving active family that is excited to grow our family through adoption.
We are Mike, Steph, Charlotte and Andrew. Let us start by saying that we will never know the emotion that you must be feeling right now. If you take only one thing away from seeing our profile, it should be this: That we think what you are doing is super brave and though we have yet to meet, we already know there is something special about you.
Thank you for taking the time to get to know us a little better. We hope that the words below and the video will help to give you a glimpse at who we are and what we are all about. Our quick synopsis:
We are a couple that has been best friends since high school (nearly 20 years).
We have two awesome little children named Charlotte (5) and Andrew (3) who are constantly making us laugh and keeping us on our toes.
We love to do things together as a family from riding bikes to going on vacations.
We go to Church every Sunday and feel it’s a privilege to be part of our church community.
We know this is such an important decision for you so we respect whatever direction you choose to go from here. If we don’t have the good fortune to meet, know that you will always be in our hearts and prayers. But should God send you a feeling that we should meet, we would love to know more about you and help answer any more questions you have about us. Know that we are more than open to various levels of communication and believe the adoption process is a lifelong relationship between you and us in whatever way feels most comfortable.
This is what I have been waiting for! The kids picking and eating green beans from the garden!
Who We Are
It was pretty close to love at first sight. We met at 14 and I knew there was something special about her. We were good friends for 8 years through high school and college before we started dating. I think that base helped us to be more than just husband and wife. We are best friends.
Another successful weekend of camping. I grew up camping with my Dad’s side of the family. The tradition has lived on for 36 years. All my aunts and uncles, cousins and their families make a point to get together every summer and camp for a weekend together. It easily gets up to 40 people with all our camp sites together. Every year there is a story to tell and fun memories made. This year we went to Devils Lake State Park. The big storms kept most of the group from arriving not till Saturday morning. The day heated up quickly and we were off to the beach. The lake was warm and the kids had so much fun.
We do a big pot luck on Saturday night and join all of our camp sites together. The night always ends with a camp fire and lots of laughs.
The weekend went fast but we all had so much fun. Its great being outside and just having the kids be dirty. I feel so fortunate to have all these loving people in my life.
How is it the fourth of July already? This summer is flying by.
We had a fantastic day. The day started off with a fun parade. We were fortunate to meet up with some families from our church at the parade. So the kids had friends to stand with while they collected all the candy. The parade lasted about an hour which was perfect. The kids were so excited about their candy stash and saw some fun things in the parade.
After the parade we headed to a friends cook out. Its a yearly tradition to meet up with friends and family at the cook out. The kids have fun playing with their friends and cousins and the adults enjoy all the delicious food and chatting.
By the time the cook out was over, the kids were tired and so were the adults. We thought this was going to be the first year for fireworks for our kids but they were just too tired. They couldn’t even stay awake for the car ride. Maybe next year.
Overall a great day of celebrating the Fourth of July.
