It was clear the first time we met, over 11 years ago at a college football tailgate, that we had a special connection. We quickly realized we had found in each other the soulmate for whom we had both been waiting. Our shared values and commitment to family drew us together and we discovered our personalities are the perfect complement for a strong and happy relationship.
We have very similar personality traits which create the firm foundation of our relationship. Our bond is strengthened each day by having great communication and a deep respect for each other. We see ourselves as a team that shares in our relationship and home responsibilities, eagerly anticipating sharing the most wonderful responsibility of raising a child together.
We enjoy life each and every day and never forget how to have fun. We want to shower our child with love and affection so that he or she will always feel safe and secure, will know how very special they are, and how lucky we are to be their parents. For us, being really good parents means raising our children to be the best they can be, helping them discover who they are, setting a positive example through our actions, and being there to support them throughout their lives. We look forward to teaching him or her to have compassion for the world around us.
We live in a great house in a wonderful, family friendly neighborhood in the Atlanta area. Our home is our dream house; full of character, comfort, warmth, and spaces to create family memories. It’s often the hub of activity and we cherish family time spent enjoying meals and moments together.
It is truly our dream home and is only missing the sound of little footsteps! We live in a neighborhood with lots of children and parks in which to play. Our back yard and garden is our oasis. Every year we bring our family and friends together for a number of special holiday events. Some of our favorite annual events are hosting a Spring Garden Party, Halloween Pumpkin Carving Part, and Gingerbread House Party. We love having family and friends over!
The house has a huge front and backyard where we play ball and games with our nieces and nephews. We turned a portion of our backyard into a vegetable and flower garden. We even had our backyard/garden recognized by the National Wildlife Federation as a Certified Wildlife Habitat.
Landon’s loving heart is the first thing that everyone notices when they meet him. His kindness and generosity is something his father taught him, and something he lives every day. He is a friendly person who enjoys laughing and joking with family and friends. When friends think of the person that would give the shirt off his back, it is Landon who first comes to mind.
Landon loves the outdoors. Fishing, swimming, scuba diving, college football, hiking, and working outdoors are some of Landon’s favorite activities. Our beautiful gardens are a testament to Landon’s skill and love of gardening. He belongs to the Atlanta Botanical Garden and enjoy the many benefits of membership. Athletics is important as well and he was Captain of his swim team in high school and a member of the dive team.
Gordie holds dear and also values his fondest childhood memory of sitting, eating and talking around the dinner table. Family tradition is something that is important to Gordie. We have created a home in which that is a priority and hope to emulate with our child, the importance of traditional meals where our family eats, talks and listens to each other without modern day interruptions.
Gordie is an excellent cook, especially recipes using ingredients from our vegetable and herb gardens. He even enjoys going to the farm nearby to collect farm fresh eggs and local honey. He is also the organizer for the social events at our home as we are involved with our community and neighborhood council, for which Landon is a board member.
It’s known among everyone that Gordie’s “happiest of places” is somewhere on a beach. He’s a very active person with hobbies including: reading, college football, scuba diving, fishing, athletics, tennis, gardening, cooking, and being with family and friends.
