In 2008, Chris and I met through an online dating site. After hitting it off talking via phone and texting for a while, we decided to meet face to face. We agreed to meet at Starbucks. However, we both went to different Starbuck’s locations! After we each sat there nervously thinking we had been stood up, we phoned each other, figured out what had happened, and then agreed to meet at Applebee’s instead. Luckily, there was only one of those! To this day, we still laugh about it. We had a nice dinner and spent the evening chatting and getting to know each other. When I got home, I told my Grandma that for some reason I had a feeling I was going to marry him.
After a year of dating, Chris proposed and of course, I said yes. On July 10, 2010 we were married surrounded by family and friends. The best thing about our marriage is we have learned that whatever challenge we face, we can get through it. The child we welcome would have the security of knowing they were raised in a home with a solid marriage and great values.
Reason for Adopting:
We have both dreamed of having a family since we got married. We have struggled for some time now with infertility issues. We have spent many years being with our nieces and nephew and our friends' children and would love to have our own family. We know we are ready to be parents. We hope that you feel comfort knowing your baby would be loved and have a life filled with opportunities. We would be so grateful for the chance to welcome a child into our lives.
We live in a raised ranched that we purchased shortly before we got married. Our home did require some work. Luckily, Chris is very handy and did a lot of work on our home. Our family was so helpful in painting and ripping out carpeting so that a little one would be able to crawl around. Chris and his uncle put in new tile in our kitchen and bathroom floor. I could see Chris building a sand box and putting up a swing set in our back yard. We have a huge family room where we envision surrounded toys. We have a large fenced in yard, which backs up to a playground. We enjoy our nice deck that overlooks our backyard.
Our dogs Toby and Jake enjoy their back yard as well. They would love to have a little one being able to toss a ball to them. The children we would welcome would have a lot of room to run around and be free in their fenced yard!
We live in a great community/neighborhood. We are grateful for below:
• Our neighborhood is filled with children of all ages.
• We are very fortunate to have a park in our backyard and another larger park around the corner from us.
• We have a great library nearby that offers many kid friendly programs from toddler through high school.
• Our Recreation Center in our community offers many toddler and age appropriate programs.
• Our school district has a wonderful reputation for academics, sports and other school activities
About Chris (By Sara)
Chris is a friendly, caring and hardworking man who always puts his family first. He is very handy and has spent many hours doing amazing renovations to our home. In addition, if family or friends need help; he is always there to assist. If he does not know how to do something, he will learn how to do it. He always makes me and others smile with his sense of humor. I can picture him using his humor and patience when putting our child’s first bike together. Chris enjoys time with his niece and nephew and enjoys getting together with his family and friends. I feel blessed to be his wife. I know Chris is looking forward to adopting a baby to make our family complete. He will be the best dad.
About Sara (By Chris)
Sara is a very caring, kind, and willing to help anyone in need. She does loving things for me like packing my dinner for work each night. She is very organized with dates and running our household. Her organizational skills will come in handy when planning our first family trip to Disney. She loves spending time with our furry boys Toby & Jake. She does spoil them with their special car rides. She also enjoys spending time with her nieces reading to them, doing puzzles with them or playing hide and seek. Sara makes sure to hide in the most obvious places! She loves to get together with her friends who have babies too, and hold and cuddle with them. I feel in my heart she be a wonderful mother and will be overjoyed when a baby joins our loving family.
