OUR STORY: We met in 2011 at a Minnesota Twins game. We have a mutual friend that set us up, and we all went to the game together. They made sure we sat next to each other! We talked about Harry Potter, baseball and did the small talk thing. Soon after, Andy called Margaret and we had our first date. :)
We always try to be the best person we can be for the other--supportive, caring, kind. We want to grow old and wrinkly together! The fact that we both enjoy many of the same things makes it easy-- walks, eating good food, live music, movies (e.g. Marvel comics and sci-fi!), TV (e.g. Game of Thrones!), reading, and especially traveling to and exploring new places. And did I mention GOOD FOOD? We love to eat!
The most important thing to us is spending quality time with family for holidays (Christmas, Thanksgiving, Easter) and for special occasions (birthdays, weddings, anniversaries, etc.) and whenever we can get some quality hangout time with them. We absolutely cannot wait to bring a little one into our loving, supportive families! He/she will be adored!!
We live in a charming old 4 bedroom house that was built in 1889. There are 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms upstairs and 1 bedroom downstairs that we use as an office. It is two blocks from the main downtown area, so we have all city water and services. The proximity to downtown also makes it easy to walk to all of the concerts and events there! Our neighborhood is a quiet, tree-lined street with a city park and playground a half-block away and 2 more within walking distance. We are close to all kinds of shopping and restaurants and within walking distance from both our elementary and middle schools.
I grew up in a small family in Minnesota--just my parents and my younger brother with whom I am very close. We did all kinds of things together as a family-- many road trips, camping trips, canoe trips--we love the outdoors! I can't wait to share that with a child. I like to read and learn new things, especially about history. I've enjoyed skiing since I was young, and follow college football, and major league baseball. One of my absolute favorite things to do is get up early on the weekend and watch professional soccer! Tottenham Hotspur is my team. Go Spurs!
ANDY (by Margaret): Andy is one of those guys that is nice to everyone-- servers, tollbooth workers, everyone! He loves his family fiercely. I see him with his nieces and nephews and just melt--he will be the most amazing dad! He reads a lot and loves learning which makes him a really interesting person to talk to. I love his nerdy side. He is a thinker and a problemsolver. He loves me and treats me amazingly--I got one of the good ones!
I grew up in a big Catholic family in Michigan with 5 siblings and now have 11 nieces/nephews on that side! I became a French teacher like my mom and we are very similar. We both love to be silly and tell funny stories about our lives, re-enacting scenes with lots of gestures, smirks, dramatic faces and voices... and maybe a little exaggeration!! We love hanging out and laughing our butts off! I consider myself to be a sporty, tomboyish Betty Crocker. :) I played basketball, softball and volleyball back in the day, and recently was named to my high school's Athletic Hall of Fame. I adore baking--especially muffins, but any bread or cookie will do!
MARGARET (by Andy): Margaret is amazing! She is independent and adventurous but never seems bored with a quiet night at home working a puzzle or going for a walk around the neighborhood. I know Margaret will be a wonderful mom as she brings kindness and joy to each day that we spend together.
