We were so pleased and proud to celebrate William’s graduation with his Doctorate in Clinical Psychology. We had William’s grandparents, sister, brother and parents in town to celebrate. Graduation was at the Basilica in Washington D.C. and then we all went out to a special dinner. We wrapped up celebrations with a brunch at our house the following morning.
I, Laura, could not be more proud of all of William’s accomplishments and hard work.
Mother’s Day is hard when you are waiting to be a mama. So William and I decided to jam pack the weekend with fun things. We had so many things to celebrate and be thankful for. We will celebrate our 4th anniversary this Thursday, Laura passed the Praxis teaching exam she needs to start school in the fall, and we are about 65% packed to move.
First stop was the British Embassy for their Open House. We got to tour the gardens and the residence, all spectacularly English, we heard the British Children’s choir and saw some snippets from Midsomer Night’s Dream. They gave us a bag to keep that says, “Jolly Good Bag”.
Next step, I went and got my hurr did by my friend Jenny at Shear Rock n Roll. If you live in the DC area, I highly recommend her! I could almost pick up a satellite signal with all that in my hair.
Finally, we went to a Great Gatsby dance at a local church. We learned how to shim sham and lindy hop. We had so much fun drinking sparkling cider from martini glasses, stepping on each other’s toes and getting dressed up. I am so thankful for a sweet husband that likes adventuring with me!
