In October of 2000, we were introduced in college by two mutual friends. From that point on, our
relationship fit together like two puzzle pieces. They say opposites attract and that statement rang
true from the beginning for us. Janet grew up in the hustle and bustle of Long Island, New York
and Jason was used to the slower paced lifestyle in rural Maryland. We loved the unique qualities
each of us possessed as individuals. Each other’s strengths balanced us out perfectly. In
December of 2006 during a trip to New York City, after asking her father for her hand (whew...he
was nervous), Jason proposed to Janet in Central Park. To celebrate the occasion, we enjoyed a
couple hot dogs and split a coke from a street corner vendor (hey…..we’re casual).
We have two very large families that we enjoy being around whenever possible. Jason’s
mother, Linda, is one of eight; his father, Billy, was one of three. Janet’s mother, Dorothy, is one of
five and her father, Michael, is one of three. Janet has an older brother, Mikey, and Jason has an
older sister, Kim. Sprinkled in are a number of cousins, great cousins, and more. We also have a
large extended family through our friends. Uncle Jason and Aunt Janet are titles that we wear
proudly. We enjoy gathering with them for Sunday football, summer concerts, cook-outs, and
nights around the fire pit.
In 2008, we were married in front of a large gathering of our family and friends and the adventure
that started in 2000 began a new chapter and each day since has been filled with love and
adventure. We always knew we wanted to start our family, but after years of failed fertility treatments and a miscarriage, we have answered our calling to grow our family through adoption. Although we have struggled with infertility, we are blessed in so many ways and look forward to being blessed with the missing piece in our lives, a child to love.
We live in a quiet neighborhood; in a nice cul-de-sac (it makes a GREAT wiffle ball field). We are minutes from the coast, very close to restaurants, shopping, museums, concert venues, and more. Our home offers 3 bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms, a huge kitchen, and large fenced back yard. There is plenty of space to grow our loving family.

Jason’s thoughts on Janet:
From the first time I met her, I have been love struck. She is the person I try to be every day. She has a large heart and puts others first. Whenever I watch her work with kids from her school or interact with our friends' kids, I know how phenomenal she will be as a mother.
She is an INCREDIBLE cook! She is always making new dishes to try on me as her guinea pig and I haven’t met one dish yet that I haven’t liked……..except for that weight watchers corn chowder recipe……yuck.
She is caring, compassionate, affectionate, and adventurous to name a few. She is never afraid to either go along with or talk me out of the harebrained ideas I come up with like the time I called her on a Wednesday with the grand idea of visiting New Orleans for the annual Jazz Fest. Knowing her love for Lady GaGa and the fact that she was playing Jazz Fest, I knew it would be an easy sell.
She is the love of my life and each day I fall in love with her all over again. She is my best friend, my wife, my partner in crime, my rock, my boo, and my dawg!
Favorite Movie: Caddyshack
Favorite Artist: Jimmy Buffett
Favorite Food: Anything Janet makes but it’s hard to turn away from steak!
Favorite thing about Janet: She has the cutest little nostrils. I mean those things are tiny. I have no idea how she fits her finger up there but I catch her picking her nose all the time.
Janet’s thoughts on Jason:
Jason is the most compassionate, thoughtful, fun-loving husband I could ever ask for. He surprises me every day with his abilities to make everyone around him enjoy life.
I have watched him grow personally and professionally over the past 16 years and am in awe of the person he has become. He is one of the most selfless people I have ever met. Whether it is helping an elderly woman with her groceries or helping a friend with a broken car, he will drop everything if you need him. Sure he has his flaws (I mean...he is a Redskins fan), but that only makes me fall in love with him more.
Jason is always willing to try something new and isn’t afraid to be different. He loves the outdoors and being with friends. He is my best friend and I know he will make a wonderful father!
