We have been together for nearly 20 years and in August 2015 we got marred in Hawaii! Karla’s laugh is infectious and she loves taking care of others- including the many animals we have rescued over the years. Tonya has a huge heart and her kindness is seen throughout everything she does. We are each others balance and find comfort in knowing that we are one anothers strength.
The best part of our day is coming home to each other. We are successful and driven in our careers, but most importantly we believe success is defined by the love you have at home and we are excited to share this with a child.
We recently bought our dream home in anticipation of starting our family. We currently share our home with two Chihuahua mixes that we rescued, Charo and Lulu. Our home is in a trendy location that is only 10 minutes from anything we need – beach, downtown, and our jobs. We live in a very community oriented neighborhood with excellent schools, great parks, and a huge YMCA family center. Our neighborhood offers a lot for families to do together. There are always neighborhood events happening and fun things for kids to do. On the weekends we love to walk to the local farmer’s market to buy all our fresh fruits and vegetables for the week. If we’re not home enjoying one of our community block parties you can find us at the beach or enjoying a beautiful day outside.
I have been lucky enough to be with the love of my life for the last 20 years. We have built a great life together and are ready to start the next phase of our life and start our family.
I am an animal lover and have made a career of working with animals. I am compassionate and patient. I will teach our child to be kind and respectful of all living things.
I grew up in Los Angeles and grew up in a strong Cuban family. There was always music, laughter, and food around and I can't wait to have our child surrounded by so much love.
I grew up in the mid west in a close and loving family. I learned the importance of volunteering and giving back to my community from my parents. They had our family volunteering at church and also for the homeless. As I grew up, I found my own charities to support- and now, as a CEO of a children's charity, I continue to give back to our community.
I have always known I wanted to be a parent, providing the same love to a child that I received from my family.
When I met Karla I knew she was the right person for me and have loved every minute of our life together. I am excited to start our next chapter as parents.
I have a large extended family and for the holidays, we get together to cook, spend time together and share in family celebrations. It is common to have 25 family members for Thanksgiving and Christmas and I can't wait to grow that number with our child. He/She will grow up surrounded by grandparents, uncles, aunts and cousins.
My experience as an auntie, cousin and even my work with children of all ages has taught me the most important things you can provide to a child are love, patience, your time, and ensuring they grow up in a community,
I am looking forward to having a little one running around the house while I am cooking a big dinner for our family, followed by bedtime story time!
