We are an east coast couple in a good place in our lives. We just moved into our home, closer to many of our friends and family. We enjoy our work but most importantly spending time together, even doing the simple things in life: food shopping, laundry, cleaning, cooking - doesn't matter, we are just happy being together. The one thing missing is a child to share in this life and go on new adventures.
We are about to celebrate our five-year anniversary. We met speed dating. Yes, its every bit as absurd, entertaining and frightening as it appears on TV and in the movies, but for us, it worked! Jay came to the event as one more thing to do in his quest to find a suitable spouse. Heidi, having been married previously, was venturing back into dating and had much more apprehension. While Jay remembers all four minutes of the first encounter, Heidi does not recall any of it. Our following dates were much longer, allowing us to get to know each other, hear about our families, friends, work and what we wanted from life. Both of us having been in prior relationships, we had a good sense of what we wanted in life and have learned to communicate well with each other.
Family and friends are most important in our life. They have been a big part of our journey and are very excited to share in our wanting to adopt a child. Adoption has already been a part of our lives as Jay's sister was adopted from China by Jay’s dad and his second wife. She is a part of our lives as any sibling.
We take our health seriously and making much more of an effort to exercise and diet to stay in shape. Heidi has been going to kickboxing classes at a local studio. Jay goes to the gym for cardio and weightlifting as often as his schedule will allow. We enjoy hiking as well.
Jay has taken over cooking many of our meals, preparing breakfast and lunches during the week. We enjoy researching recipes that give us tasty healthy food. We both have several cooking apps and we go to farmers markets where we can get fresh local produce.
We look forward to taking your child on hikes and walks with us, even in a stroller, going to outdoor children’s concerts during the summer, and family friendly events throughout the area. We also look forward to teaching your child to cook and explore whatever interests them when he or she is old enough.
