Loving, happy, single woman seeking to become a mom!

My name is Andrea, please call me Andi. I want you to know how deeply I appreciate you looking at my profile and considering me as a parent for your child. This must be an incredibly difficult time for you and I wish you much peace of mind. I honor you for the courage that you have as you make the important decisions in front of you. Thank you for considering me.

I am a life long Philadelphian. I am an outgoing person who loves to connect with people. I am a single woman with a large extended family of parents, aunts/uncles and cousins in the area. In addition, I am part of a large community. I live in a wonderful, safe and diverse area in a home that I own right outside of the city.

I have a very close relationship with my family - siblings, parents and more. I have parents and cousins in the area. My brother and his family are about and an hour away. My sister and her family are in Boston. The three of us speak every day! We are a large, loud & loving family. I am very close with my young adult niece and nephew.

Professionally I work as a member of the clergy. I am a rabbi and I work at a large synagogue as part of a team. I love to meet families at all points in their lives and to help them to find meaning and comfort. Nineteen years ago I founded a food pantry. My work involves a great deal of time with children of all ages. My congregants often tell me that I would be a wonderful mom; I yearn to be a mom and to provide a warm, loving, fun, creative home for a child. Because I work in a large community I have some flexibility in my schedule and my co-workers and congregants are very excited and supportive of my building a family.

In my work and family I have always loved helping kids to discover who they are and what special gifts they have been given. Though I am not yet married, I do hold out hope for that kind of committed relationship. In the meantime, I do not want to miss out on the blessings of raising children. With that in mind, and with the strong support of all those around me, I am excited to build my family through adoption. Please know that my family has given me so much love-and I would love to share that with your baby. I would, of course, be open to also having you in our lives-if you wish.

When I am not working I love to cook big dinners for friends and family. I love to sing and to do folk dancing. There is always music in my life. I love to travel - and I would want my child to experience different world cultures. My family is blessed to have a small home at a nearby beach and we all love to gather there in the summers.

As you can see, I am a person of faith and consider my life to be blessed. I would love to add the blessing of children into my life. I wish you much luck in your upcoming decisions and in the months ahead. I would look forward to speaking with you about our journeys.

Many Blessings - Andi

Who I Am

A bit more about me-
I am fortunate to have been raised in a wonderful family that remains close and connected. I have a sister who is 9 1/2 years older than I am and a brother who is 7 1/2 years older than I am. I am very close to both of them and their families. I have aunts, uncles, and cousins in the area. I enjoy a tight-knit family, friends, and faith community and I am seeking to adopt a child so that I can share the love that I have.

My parents have been married for almost 60 years and worked together for many of those years. My dad is a family physician and my mom ran his office for decades in addition to having her own creative business. Growing up, our home was the place that extended family and friends came for fun and family. We lived in a neighborhood where one could ride a bike for hours with other kids. I now live in a similar area. Our home was a place filled with guests and friends. My parents created a home where my friends wanted to be, and I remain friends with my very first friend from the block. My home now is often filled with family and friends. My work life as a rabbi helps me to understand how fortunate I am to have a family where everyone speaks to each other and cares for one another in concrete ways. Because my siblings are so much older than I am I feel like I had the benefits of having siblings and older cousins while also getting the attention of an only child.

While in college and graduate school I was active in singing groups and had the opportunity to travel twice to Eastern Europe to perform. Along with singing, I like to do folk dancing, yoga and meditation, when I can; I also love to ride my bike. I love hosting large meals on weekends at my home. I love to watch movies. I love to follow politics, both here and abroad.

I had always imagined that I would have a big family with a husband and children. When I was in my 20s and beyond I had thought hat I would raise a family that included both biological and adopted children. My closest friend from college was adopted at birth and though she and her husband have biological children; they made a point of raising adopted children also to honor her past. I like being around kids; congregants and family often tell me that I am a natural with the kids in our community. I love my work, my family, and my community, and I want to share my passion for this world with children and to raise a family.

I believe in creating a warm and loving atmosphere where a child feels unconditional love and has people to help them grow and discover the world. I think that one sacred task of every person in the world is to figure out what they can do in this world that is special and important using their own talents. I think it is the job of a parent and family to help a child to explore who they are to become. I believe we do this by creating a secure environment for children to play and learn and discover. I think that becoming a parent will change everything...in a very good way. I would love the opportunity to speak with you and to learn about your journey -and I am open to whatever kind of contact you wish. Many Blessings to you!
