We’re So Excited for “Fake Christmas”
Since we’re going to be with Jason’s side of the family on Christmas Day, we decided to host “Fake Christmas” with my (Bethany’s) side of the family.
So here’s the plan. Tomorrow Aria and I are going to make chocolate chip cookies from scratch for Santa. Friday afternoon, my grandparents, sister, brother-in-law, and parents will arrive at our house. We’re going out to dinner and then we’ll put Aria to bed and get all the presents under the tree. We’ve got Elf and It’s a Wonderful Life to watch and lots of board games.
And we can’t forget to eat the cookies and drink the milk for Santa. I distinctly remember one Christmas when I was a kid where Santa forgot to eat his cookies and milk. So suspect.
Saturday morning we’ll get Aria up and hopefully take lots of pictures and videos of her opening gifts.
Then I’m going to make breakfast for everyone. Jason is most excited about the cinnamon rolls.
Then late afternoon I’m going to serve a holiday dinner - turkey, mashed potatoes, green beans, sweet potatoes, and cranberry sauce.
My sister Kristin named our Christmas get together “Fake Christmas” and now that’s what we’re all calling it. It’s the first time we’re doing this, and everyone is so excited!
Pictures and videos to come!
