There are few life experiences where our hearts skip a beat. The first time that we saw each other was one of those moments. We were set up on a blind date by one of Carson’s friends. Carson went out to a bonfire with some of his friends one weekend. He was told about Kelsey and how beautiful and awesome she was. He decided to give her a call. He called Kelsey to set up the date. To this day, Kelsey is extremely embarrassed because she was asleep at 9:30 p.m. on a Friday night. Carson claims he didn’t notice.
Our first date was a large group date. There were about 6 different couples. We all met at the apartment where Kelsey used to live. Kelsey, living in 15 minutes away in another town, insisted that she just meet Carson at the apartment with all of the other people. When Kelsey walked into the apartment, there was definitely immediate chemistry between us. Kelsey was taken back by Carson’s cute smile. We went out to dinner and to the movie. In Idaho, the majority of people own or have access to a pickup truck. We loaded up tons of blankets and pillows and went to the drive-in movies where we could watch the movie while lying in the back of the truck. We didn’t pay hardly any attention to the movie, so much so, that we don’t even remember what was playing. We laid there in the back of the truck and talked for hours and got to know each other. With other couples also in the back of the truck, the only comfortable position was snuggling, which was a plus!
We dated almost a whole month, maybe longer before we first kissed. Carson says it’s because he really wanted to get to know Kelsey and he was waiting for the perfect moment, but Kelsey just calls him chicken. We haven’t stopped kissing since.
It became evident very quickly that we belonged together. One evening, Carson secretly planned to return to the drive-in movie theater to propose to Kelsey. He planned to sneak in when it was dark, while it was closed to propose under the stars and the big movie screen. When Carson popped the question, Kelsey was not expecting it at all. Due to her surprise, her response was “Are you shitting me? YES!” We were together for 14 months before we got married. It has been one amazing adventure after another together. With every adventure come memories that we will keep forever. We hope that our children will have their own amazing life experiences that will give them cherishable memories.
We feel like we were a little long winded with that story. Please look at our adoptimist blog, Facebooks, and Instagrams to know what we have been up to since we got married.
We love the area we live in. We both grew up in East Idaho. We still live in East Idaho in a safe beautiful town called Idaho Falls. We have lived in our current home for two years. Our home was built in 2014 and it’s our dream home that we hope to raise our family in. We hope to provide a home environment that your child feels, safe, clean, comfortable, peace, joy, and love. We believe that home is the starting place for love, hope and dreams.
We love our neighborhood and are so blessed with how safe it is. We love our neighbors that are all fabulous friends. The neighbors across the street are great people that spoil our dog with a treat morning and night and they’ve told us they can’t wait to spoil our kids. Literally all of our next door neighbors have adopted, so your child will grow up with three other adopted children.
We live in this area because we knew that this is where we wanted to raise our children. Kelsey’s family all live in East Idaho and the majority of Carson’s family live here too. It’s important that our children live close to their grandparents so that they can enjoy each other and have fun playing with cousins too.
The area we live is amazing we are 30 minutes away from the mountains, rivers, lakes, sand dunes, and resorts. The outdoors is our oasis and we are proud of the Idaho scenery we live in. We love the outdoors and love calling Idaho our home. We can’t wait to play in the outdoors with our children. We dream about going camping as a family and watching them roast marshmallow; and taking them snowboarding and helping them put on their cute little mittens.
Carson and I loved growing up in this area and we hope our children do too!
Kelsey is a great mother because of all of her attributes. She is patient. She cares about everyone and everything. She is always thinking about others and is always going out of her way to make people's day. One of the most amazing things about her is that she has the ability to perceive people's feelings which allows her to always have a sensitive thoughtful interaction with those around her. Kelsey is also strong and willing to fight for what is right. She is a "mama bear" that will always protect those she loves. Her personality makes her extremely fun to be around. Kelsey as a mother is: loving, caring, and nurturing, she is a teacher, an example, and a strong support for her family and children. She gives our son/children the education, the love, and the strength that will help them survive in this ever changing world. The world is a scary place for children and she will always be there to support them no matter what adversity they encounter along the way. She is simply amazing.
Carson is an amazing person. He is so caring, kind, charitable, always willing to serve others, tender hearted, patient, a peacemaker, fun-loving, hardworking, and so sweet. Carson is a very involved dad that teaches his children daily. He is very supportive and his children will know they always have his support and that he loves them greatly. Carson is very generous and charitable to those that are around him, he is always looking for ways to serve others. Carson loves to be outdoors and hanging out with friends and family. There is not a single thing negative I could say about him, he is a fabulous father and husband.
