To Someone Very Special

We are bursting with emotions, just writing this letter to you. We want you to thank you for taking a look at our profile. We don't know what you are go through, the emotions you are feeling or what your world is like right now.
We can offer you an ear to listen and a promise to support your decisions.
We want to provide your child with a life filled with pride for who they are, happiness in what they do and love, so, so much love. We want your child to know the story that is uniquely theirs. You and your family are an important part of this child's story and we wouldn't want it any other way. Whether it be birthday cards, pictures, and/or visits, we want you to always be a part of your child’s life.
We are Mara and Simon from Long Island, New York. We grew up a town away from one another, met during high school and lost touch after college. Years later, we reconnected at a party thrown by a mutual friend. A romance was kindled and we have been together for the past fifteen years.
Today, we live in a quiet suburb of New York City on Long Island, in a home with a big backyard and wonderful neighbors We are an hour from the city and minutes from our families. Our town has a quaint downtown section, while scenic waterfronts and family beaches are only a few minutes away. Mara is a educator, crafter and great cook. She loves to whip up something delicious for students, friends and family. While Simon, ever industrious, he often is creating something on the computer. He enjoys hiking, reading, and photography. We have a little mix breed dog named Teddy, he is the king of the castle.

Who We Are

We grew up a few towns from one another and met in high school. We were good friends, always looking to keep the other smiling better yet laughing. But as we started college unfortunately we lost touch. We met up again years later at a mutual friends party and have been inseparable ever since. We rediscovered how much we love to make each other laugh, we both can go to the silliest extremes to get a laugh from each other. We both want the very best for each other and can motivate each other to climb to the highest heights. Our dream of having a family is something we have pursued for a few years now. We cannot wait to bring a little one to our family, there is nothing better than a baby's laugh.

Adoption Diary

Celebrating 15 years!

Fifteen years ago I conquered my battle with cancer and I have remained cancer free ever since! I was in my twenties when doctors discovered that what I had thought was stubborn belly fat was actually an 18 lb tumor filling my abdomen attached to my ovary. I was oblivious to the idea that my symptoms of bloating, gas and constipation were related to cancer. I thought it was part of the same thing that happened every month. I am so very lucky to have had my family and friends to help me through a difficult time. So this year, as I mark the 15th year cancer free I would like to celebrate my life and all the special people who make it so wonderful.

Night out!

We had a chance to head in to NYC to see Patton Oswalt’s show. So funny!
