About Us
Our Story
We are a two-dad family blessed with a six-year-old son, Kiernan, who entered our hearts and brightened our world through an open adoption. We hope to share our love with another child.
Together 15 years (and married 10), our relationship is solid—based on love, affection, and mutual respect. As parents we love deeply, try to communicate clearly, and believe humor helps us navigate life’s challenges.
We are forever grateful to Kiernan’s birthmother and stay in touch with her over text and through visits during the year. Each situation is unique and we respect the difficult mix of feelings that can accompany a pregnant woman considering an adoption plan. Thank you for taking time to learn about our family. Our Home
We live in a suburb of New York City, in a diverse community with good schools and lots of parks and playgrounds. We appreciate the space and sense of community of suburban living, with the resources of Manhattan nearby.
Our home is on a cul-de-sac in a neighborhood with many young families. We were lucky enough to find a house with plenty of space inside and out to expand our family. We love spending time there with family and friends, sharing meals, and playing with our two dogs, Harvey and Hudson.

Chris is a kid at heart. He’s playful and silly, and loves to make people laugh. He also never gets tired of eating candy.
Chris is kind, thoughtful, caring, and empathetic. It’s no wonder he chose a career as a therapist. Chris is always there for friends and family, offering to listen or lend a helping hand. And his intelligence and character make him someone who inspires confidence in others.
Most importantly, Chris is an incredible father. He is attuned to Kiernan's needs, and provides him with stability, security, and unconditional love. Kiernan loves his dad.

I have always been struck by Hank's honesty, kindness, and warmth. He is soft-spoken and very thoughtful. He laughs easily and often, and does not take himself too seriously (except for his chocolate stash at work—don’t try coming between him and that afternoon snack!).
Hank is a man of intelligence, humor, and integrity. Friends and family respect him and know they can count on him to follow through on his commitments. He loves deeply, and kids are drawn to his gentle demeanor.
Hank is a great dad—Kiernan loves his papa, and it's so sweet to watch them spend time together. Hank is very patient. He enjoys reading to Kiernan, making up games, and playing the same old ones (sometimes again and again). Hank celebrates Kiernan's achievements and takes delight in watching him grow.
